Current regional projects range from the vast residential and leisure complex at Dubai Marina to jet fuel storage facilities at Sharjah International Airport to new water supplies for Al Masarrat in Oman including new regional Landmark wins include project management consultancy roles for ZADCO on its US$250 million Satah oilfield development in Abu Dhabi and for KAFCO on its new fuel depot at Kuwait International Airport.

As the company expands and develops its regional presence, they are actively recruiting for experienced highway engineers to become part of and contribute to these exciting and developing opportunities. This is a long-term career appointment with the opportunity to advance to a more senior management positions within the group.

Job description
The successful applicant will be knowledgeable highway design procedures necessary to deliver a range of dynamic and challenging highways projects. The applicant will be client and team focused.

• To deliver large and complex highways schemes (or several smaller schemes) and provide highways advice for the other schemes to deliver the project outcomes agreed.
• To provide Professional and Technical Excellence in highway engineering.
• To report to the regional directors on performance against budget and programme.
• To generate and develop new business for the regional development of the company.

Candidate specification
The candidate will ideally have experience of highway engineering and business development within the UAE. This however is a developing role and an appreciation of business development and highway engineering delivery are essential for any applicant. The successful candidate will likely have the following background and skills:

• Chartered Civil Engineer or equivalent qualification with several years post-chartered experience.
• Detailed knowledge of Highways engineering design codes.
• Capability and experience of business development within the highway engineering sector (ideally within the UAE).
• Knowledge of the use of computer design tools
• Experience in the design and construction of highways schemes
• Ability to develop relationships and engender trust at all levels of the organisation and with Clients.
• Presentation, team building and delegation skills.
• Technical excellence in highways engineering.
• Strong communications skills to be able to unambiguously communicate targets, and priorities
