Senior Traffic Engineer – UAE

Our client, a multinational, multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy, currently have openings for Traffic engineers from all levels, for a number of their offices across the UAE and GCC region

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Manage technical & engineering resources and activities more junior traffic engineers to achieve the technical delivery of project requirements and that outputs delivered are to appropriate standard, timely and within the Projects budget.
• Identify data and information required for project and appoint team members and appropriate sub-consultants.
• Establish close working relationships with all key stakeholders in the consents & approvals process, including both internal and external stakeholders
• Manage consultations and communications with stakeholders both internal and external, statutory authorities, developers & other interested parties.
• Act as Project Manager for several projects and lead a team of junior traffic engineers
• Professional advice relating to statutory consents and other approvals associated with major transportation infrastructure projects;
• Professional advice relating to engineering & technical matters;
• Optimum strategies for the identification, co-ordinated development and submission of applications for statutory consents and other approvals;
• Guidance and negotiation with design/project teams to secure appropriate and uniform supporting information for consents & approvals in line with published requirements, rules and guidelines, including preparation of Traffic Impact Assessments;
• Professional advice & strategies relating to traffic & transportation matters.
• Contribute and provide support during tender preparation, evaluation and contract awards.
• Guidance and negotiation with design/project teams to secure appropriate and uniform supporting information for traffic & transportation matters in line with published requirements, rules and guidelines

AUTHORITIES:
• Ensure that the requirements for engineering & technical solutions have been properly identified, agreed and correctly specified.
• Ensure that project operational and technical requirements are effectively captured and recorded and that these are traced back to the Development remit.
• Develop new and innovative design to the client requirements. Provide solutions to development and operational challenges to enhance the scheme design.
• Ensure that project technical interfaces and risks are identified and managed within the Project, External systems/ arrangements and Projects.


Candidate Profile
• An ability to identify potential problems and propose solutions
• Ability to team build, organise staff and prioritise works
• Ability to work well within and lead a site based team of mixed nationalities
• Ability to build rapport with work colleagues.
• Knowledge of International standards

Education / Work Qualifications
• BSc. Civil Engineering.
• Post graduate in Transportation Planning / Traffic Engineering would be an advantage.
• Strong experience in carrying out traffic impact studies.
• Ability to speak and write Arabic would be an advantage.
• More than 10 years experience in traffic consultancy.
• Strong experience in carrying out traffic impact studies.
• Preferably with modeling experience in SATURN / EMME2 / TRIPS / PTV Visum or others.
