Bridge Engineer

Senior & Principal Bridge Engineers - Salary: 30-45000 GBP

A leading international consultancy seeks Senior and Principal Engineers to work on a variety of bridge management, maintenance, design and development schemes in both the highway and rail sector. The Bridges team serves clients across the M62 corridor from Liverpool to Hull and also in Northern Ireland.

These positions offer an excellent opportunity to develop and progress within the company. Responsibilities include the management of a team of Bridge Engineers and Technicians engaged on a variety of inspection, design, assessment and strengthening projects, the
Provision of Technical Support to Graduates, Engineers and Technicians, client liaison and interfacing with multi-disciplinary project teams, assisting in the preparation of Bids, Marketing and Business Development, and
ensuring compliance with appropriate design and health and safety standards.

Successful candidates should possess a degree in Civil Engineering, chartered Status (either MICE or MIStructE) or be close to becoming chartered, be able to demonstrate a flair for structural design and have substantial experience of design in, or assessment of, steel, reinforced and prestressed concrete.

Good communication skills (both written and oral) are essential. Experience of grillage, space frame and finite element analysis software packages advantageous. A working knowledge of the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges is essential.

The Principal Engineer post also requires at least 2 years post Chartered experience in Bridge design and/or assessment and a proven track record of team management
