Planning and Cost Control Engineer

The Senior Planning Engineer will be responsible for overseeing and providing planning advice with regard to critical schedule milestones on one of Qatar’s most prestigious projects.

Preference will be given to qualified candidates who can demonstrate experience in the following:

• At least 10 years of specialist Planning & scheduling experience on large projects
• Reviewing and approving contractor’s work program submissions
• Experience in both pre-construction (design / tender stage) & construction stages
• On-site background and good experience in pre-construction stages
• Overseeing actual project progress versus the planned work milestones.

You will be responsible for:
• Generating milestones in the pre-construction stage for inclusion in tender documents via detailed discussions with the Design Manager, Design Team, and other participants.
• Monitoring, adjusting and updating the cost plan and cash flows using P3 and the consolidation of these results in weekly reports.

• Reviewing in conjunction with the Project Manager or Construction Manager any potential changes, and in turn measuring where possible future saving or additional costs can be identified.

While a degree or diploma in a related disciple is required, equally important will be your several years of specialized construction planning experience together with demonstrated experience with planning packages such as Primavera’s P3 and MS Project.
Prior experience in the Gulf Region would be advantageous.
